Forcett Street Subdivision, ​Sorell

The Forcett Street Subdivision was a residential ​development for our client JAC Group. Aimed at ​providing modern housing solutions within a ​well-planned community setting. The project ​emphasized sustainable practices and effective ​stormwater management to protect local ​ecosystems.

Subdivision Layout

The development featured 65 residential lots ​designed to optimize space and accessibility

Stormwater Management

Stormwater Treatment Device: A state-of-the-art treatment system ​was integrated to manage and treat stormwater runoff effectively, ​ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Planted Open Swale: The design included a landscaped open swale ​that promoted natural filtration, enhanced aesthetic appeal, and ​facilitated the management of stormwater runoff.

Excavation and Dewatering

Rock Excavation: The project involved significant ​rock excavation to accommodate the underground ​tanks and associated infrastructure. Careful ​planning and execution were required to minimise ​disruption.

Dewatering: A comprehensive dewatering plan was ​implemented during construction to manage ​groundwater levels and ensure a safe working ​environment.

Pump Discharge Filtration: The design included a

system for filtering the pump discharge into Orielton

Lagoon, mitigating potential environmental impacts

and protecting local wildlife habitats.

Sewer Infrastructure

Pump Station: A 7.2-meter deep, 3.2-meter diameter sewer pump station ​was constructed to manage wastewater effectively, ensuring reliable ​service for the greater Sorell community.

Emergency Storage: Two 100,000-litre fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) ​underground emergency storage tanks were installed to provide ​additional capacity during peak flows, preventing overflow and ensuring ​environmental protection.
